JACK ASTOR’S JOHN ST.
We’ve always been big fans of Johns: Belushi, Lennon, Travolta, Elton, the washroom. It’s an endless list. But our number one pick — John Street, baby: where dreams come true, streetcars get crammed, and some of the city’s finest food is served up – led by our very own kitchen of evil genius chefs. With our historical charm, impressive bar list and house-made faves on the menu, Jack’s John Street is one of the city’s finest party-animal friendly event spaces.
We’re honoured to be here, just down the street from the famous MuchMusic headquarters. If you’re under thirty, allow us to explain: MuchMusic was once an iconic music video channel on cable TV. If you’re under 20, let us explain: “cable TV” was what people watched before the Internet. Just take our word for it — this is one of the most infamous strips in the 6ix. And we’re proud to keep all you city dwellers and urban explorers fully fuelled with 4 bars and one of the best patios in the city.
Jack Astor’s John Street borders two of Toronto’s cultural hotspots! To the south, the TIFF Bell Lightbox, Princess of Wales and Royal Alexandra theatres and the always exciting Rogers Centre are less than a 10 minute walk away. Shopping mecca Queen Street West is an even shorter walk to the north. Whether driving or taking transit Jack Astor’s John St. is steps away from TTC and paid parking.

Enjoy a nice cool breeze in all the right places. The Back Patio provides a semi-private space offset from our main John Street-facing patio, and is perfect for mixing and mingling under the summer sun. While seated meals are possible, the majority of our tables are bar-height, and so we find that seated cocktails are better suited to the space. The West Cocktail will be reserved automatically to serve as an alternate “rainy-day” plan.

DINING & COCKTAIL SPACES
The Clubhouse and Rumpus Room are adjacent spaces that are separated by arched pillars. They can be booked separately (not private) or together (semi-private).
The closest of the two rooms to our main entrance, the Clubhouse is great for casual dinners with family and friends. There are a few small flat-screen TVs in the space, framed to blend in with our favourite Far Side cartoons for subtle effect. This section includes both moveable dining-height tables and permanent booths. Annex is a small area just off to the side of the Clubhouse that may or may not be used as an extension of the space. Please note that if you book the Drawing Room only for your party, there is a possibility that the Rumpus Room will be seated regularly and guests may pass your table(s).
Seated capacity: 20-54 guests, depending on table configuration
Standing capacity: Only available when combined with The Rumpus Room
The Rumpus Room:

The two sections of this floor are separated by a walkway that overlooks our main floor, creating a clear border between party spaces .
