Small bar, BIG attitude. Featuring 40+ taps, constantly rotating taps and even more tall cans, Duke’s Refresher + Bar keeps it casual, fun, and always interesting. With Duke’s loft-style open-concept space and outgoing service team, our goal is to make you feel like you’re a regular on your very first visit. With Tuesday Trivia nights and regularly scheduled events, we’re a great place to hang out – whether with a few pals, or the whole bar.

Location

Duke’s Refresher + Bar is located right between Bay and Yonge on the north side of Gerrard Street, at the base of the AURA building; and is steps away from both College and Dundas Stations and the Gerrard Street stop on the Southbound 6 Bay bus.

Parking is available in the AURA Building underground pay-enforced parking lot located on the north side of Gerrard between Yonge and Bay streets.

Strictly prohibited with exception of full restaurant buyouts. Any audio-visual requirements for a full buy out will need to be arranged by your event specialist with our preferred rental suppliers, with any associated costs applied to the minimum spend of your event.

Setup

Duke’s Refresher+Bar is happy to set up your event space to suit your needs, within the limitations of the space. Your event specialist will work with you to arrange a floorplan that suits your event while working around the restaurant’s permanent setup.

Bar Service/Billing

Cocktail service at Duke’s is very flexible – while one master bill for large groups is preferred, we are able to accommodate multiple and individual bills for most occasions – the sum of each bill will go towards meeting the minimum spend for your event. Your event specialist can advise based on your event’s details.

Menu Options

Our Party Platters were created for large group bookings! While a la carte ordering is possible, we recommend pre-ordering platters to ensure timely service during your event. Your event specialist will be able to advise on quantities and timing of waves. Forty-eight hours’ notice is required when ordering party platters. We do not offer set menus, however we can arrange for reduced a la carte menus for your event if desired.

Our menu offers limited vegetarian, vegan or gluten-friendly options; Duke’s Refresher bar is not a nut free facility.

Additional Venue Information

Duke’s is fully furnished with tables (mostly high) and chairs, plate- and glassware, cutlery and paper napkins. In keeping with our casual feel, we do not put linens on our tables – which are a mix of wood and metal. We have a very limited supply of high chairs for children. We do not have a coat closet, but coat hooks are available around the restaurant. The events department can arrange a rental order from our preferred supplier for the following items:

  • Specialty plate & glass ware: platters, patterned dishes, etc.
  • Coat racks/hangers and tags for full restaurant buyouts

Duke’s is an accessible restaurant – we have a ramp inside and a section of low top tables in the front of the restaurant. There is a wheelchair-accessible washroom on the ground floor. Our main event space, the Nosebleed Lounge, is not wheelchair accessible.
